Wesley Hills Natural Gas and Electricity Community Choice Aggregation Programs Update

Dear Residents,

Natural Gas

If you are currently a member of the Village's Community Choice Aggregation Program for Natural Gas, you may have received (or will receive) a letter from Orange & Rockland notifying you that GAGE (Great American Gas & Electric) is ending its gas supply service to you at the end of November.  The Village has been working with our consultant, Good Energy, to find a replacement supplier, but the prices offered for a fixed rate contract have not been reasonable. 

At this time the Village will allow the program to return to the Orange and Rockland variable rate while we continue to work on finding a reasonable fixed rate.  We have been in discussions with Direct Energy and will likely sign a contract with them for either March 2023 or October 2023 start, depending on if and when we can negotiate a reasonable fixed rate.  If you are a member of the Village's program, you do not have to take any action at this time and your natural gas will continue to be supplied with no interruption.  As always, you have the option of leaving the program at any time and securing your own contract with any other ESCO (Energy Service Company).

Electricity

If you are currently a member of the Village's Community Choice Aggregation Program for Electricity, the current fixed rate contract of 6.524¢/kWh is expiring in January 2023.  The Village has signed a new contract with our current provider, Constellation NewEnergy at fixed rate of 12.1¢/kW running through January 2025.  This rate is significantly better than fixed rates currently being offered by any of ESCO as part of individual contracts with homeowners (at the time we signed, those rates exceeded 14¢/kW).  As always, you have the option of leaving the program at any time and securing your own contract with any other ESCO (Energy Service Company).
