Notice to Wesley Hills residents in the vicinity of the new subdivision being constructed between Powder Horn Drive and Rockwood Lane

This is a notice to Village residents who live in the vicinity of the new subdivision being constructed between Powder Horn Drive and Rockwood Lane.

You may have received a letter concerning allowing a Hartford Structural Inspections to conduct a "Pre-Blast Inspection of your home."   This letter was not sent out by the Village of Wesley Hills.  The letter inaccurately states, "This is a requirement by request of the Fire Marshal.  All structures within 250 feet of the blasting site must be offered this inspection."  The Village code does require notification to nearby homes by certified mail at least 10 days prior to blasting, but has no provision requiring a pre-blast inspection.  You are free to choose whether or not to allow this company into your home to conduct an inspection.

The letter also notes at the bottom, "Blasting is scheduled."  Please be advised that the subdivision contractor has not yet applied for a blasting permit from the Village and at this time blasting is not scheduled.  When and if they do apply, they will need to comply with all aspects of the Village's code related to blasting which may be found HERE.
