Announcing the Wesley Hills Little Free Library

Library

With NY PAUSE closing schools, businesses and the libraries, and with our residents stuck at home and looking for things to keep them occupied, I am announcing the opening of the Wesley Hills Little Free Library.

Tables and a bookshelf have been set up in the garage at Village Hall where people can lend or borrow books, puzzles and other items they would like to share with their neighbors.  The library will be open during normal Village business hours, M-F 9am-4pm.

puzzlesLibrary Rules:

  • All items should be in good condition.  Puzzles should have all pieces.
  • All items should be clearly labeled with the lender's name and contact information (phone and/or email).
  • To maintain social distancing only 1 person/family in the garage at a time.
  • Borrowers should return items to the library when finished with them.
  • booksWhen NY PAUSE is lifted, lenders are expected to take their items home - anything left 2 weeks after shutdown will be donated or trashed.
  • Please respect the spirit of this endeavor and do not use this as an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items.  If the library begins to look like a trash heap, it will be closed.
  • Since Covid-19 can live for up to 24-hours on cardboard, please wipe down the outside of any items you borrow with an alcohol wipe and wash your hands.  If someone in your home has been diagnosed with the virus, please do not use the library until you have been released from quarantine.

The Village cannot guarantee the return of any item loaned out.

Best regards,

Marshall Katz, Mayor
