Recognizing Local Heros

Thank You Sign

Continuing our series of recognizing local heroes, I received the letter below this week.  If you bump into this person in Willow Tree Park, please thank her.

I am writing about recognizing a local hero.

There is a woman I recently met who I think should be recognized for what she does for Wesley Hills residents and for many people, especially lately, who frequent Willow Tree Park which is located in the heart of Wesley Hills.

A few mornings a week for the past several weeks she comes to Willow Tree Park and goes through the park picking up garbage that either fell out of the overflowing garbages and the animals get to, or the litter that was left by people.

I know about this because I met her a few mornings  and was surprised to see her walking through the park with a stick and bag picking up garbage from the ground.  She told me that this is her "Corona Initiative" to keep the park clean and pleasant for everyone.

I can say that there is a marked difference in the appearance of the park since she began her "Corona Initiative."

Should you include her in the "Recognizing a Hero" series she would like to be featured without her name.

If you know a Wesley Hills resident or someone who works in the Village who you would like to recognize, please send an email to mayor@wesleyhills.org and we will publish it to our mailing list.

Best regards,

Marshall Katz, Mayor
