Community Choice Aggregation

CCA

Wesley Hills is excited to announce that our Community Choice Aggregation Program (CCA) has made a major move forward this week with the signing of an agreement with Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. to supply electricity to our residents (electricity will continue to be delivered by O&R).  Our program administrator, Good Energy, L.P., informed us that the savings to the 700+ homes that will be automatically opted-in to the program will total around $250,000 over the next 2 years.  Those savings could climb even higher if residents currently under contract with an ESCO (Energy Service Company) choose to opt-in to the program (as a reminder, only homes that have not chosen an ESCO for their electricity are automatically opted-in).

We anticipate that the program will become active with the first meter read after July 1st.

In the next couple of months keep an eye on your mailbox for mailings from Good Energy that will explain the program and procedures for opting-in or out.  Good Energy will also be setting up a website with information on the program, and will set up a phone number where people who have questions can get answers.

Good Energy is also working on adding a Community Distributed Generation option (i.e. Community Solar) that may offer additional discounts of 5-10% off electricity costs.  You will receive information on this option when it becomes available.

Finally, please note that Natural Gas is not yet being offered with the CCA, but we hope to add it before the end of the year.

Best regards,

Marshall Katz, Mayor
